| Symphonies of Hope - Pharr was the first group we ever started in the U.S. How would it go? Would kids be as thankful as they were in parts of Mexico and Guatemala, or would there be too many distractions of video games and television and the like? They would have to share just a few violins until we could do some fund raising to get some more violins. After making what seemed like a bazillion cinnamon rolls we had enough to buy 12 violins. As months have passed the group has become smaller until it reached a small number of dedicated young people and their families. Now the group has started to grow a bit. We are very thankful for Abigail, who has taken leadership of the Pharr group. She has been very responsible and encouraging to the other students. God has been very merciful in providing a very kind lady instructor to help with the classes as she is able. We are very thankful and the children are too. Pray for them in the months to come as they continue on their own for a while. |
