| Orchestras & Choirs Serving in God's Love |
Santa Rita is a small community near Quetzaltenango. We have been visiting Santa Rita since 2003 but this is the first year that Santa Rita has its own small orchestra. The center—surrounded by a beautiful view of the volcano Santa Maria. There have been struggles. To provide temporary lighting we strung an electric cord from a distant house. Sometimes during evening practice we were all of a sudden plunged into darkness—but our opportunities to spend time with these young people are few and short so we grabbed flashlights, candles, or whatever we could and continued. Some of the parents have been very supportive—one family even purchased 2 violins. We hope the best for their little orchestra. We hope that the practices, verses, and small sermons delivered by adults of the community will help strengthen and form the faith of their young people. Your prayers for them can make a difference. |
